Rosie is the nauseatingly adorable, sugary sweet and unbearably beautiful 2 year old sister of Gus and the main tritagonist of A Troll in Central Park, voiced by Tawny Sunshine Glover.
She was the first human to find and befriend Stanley the troll.
Background[]
Rosie likes being involved with whatever is going on at the moment, but is easily distracted and will walk off without warning. Many situations that tend to scare children her age fazes her relatively little and she's not quick to cry, unless she bears witness to people she loves arguing or feels hungry.
Having that said, her brother's often rude behaviour doesn't seem to bother her and she's happy to hang out with him.
Because she owns a stuffed troll toy, she recognized what Stanley was and instantly liked him.
Personality[]
Sweet, playful, loving, and cute.
Physical Appearance[]
Small, slightly pudgy, blonde hair in pigtails, blue eyes, pink polo shirt, blue overalls, and red and white shoes.
Role in Film[]
To Gus, Rosie is primarily seen as a bother, though he doesn't mind including her in his playtimes and tries to keep an eye on her the best he's able to at his young age, making his sister more important to him than one would assume at first glance.
To Stanley, Rosie is a positive introduction to Earth, specifically New York. The two struggled to communicate because of their age difference, but they greatly enjoyed each other's presence and became friends at first sight.
Because Rosie is important to both Gus and Stanley, she would eventually be kidnapped by Queen Gnorga.
Trivia[]
- Rosie's facial resembles that of Anne-Marie, who made a brief cameo in A Troll in Central Park. Anne-Marie's role was since disabled in the latter All Dogs Go to Heaven franchise because of Judith Barsi's tragedy back in July 1988.
- The sound of Rosie crying was not original to A Troll in Central Park, rather it is a stock sound effect (Babies and Children - 2 1/4 Year Old Baby Crying) from the BBC Sound Effects Library. The sound effect is known to have been used in some films, such as Columbia Pictures' 1992 gothic horror film Bram Stoker's Dracula, New Line Cinema's sequel film Son of the Mask, and another Warner Bros. film The Blind Side, and some TV shows, such as Invader Zim and The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange. A higher-pitched version of Rosie's cry has also been used in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 60th feature film Encanto.
