Reed Daley is the editor of the Daily Nibbler newspaper in An American Tail: The Mystery of the Night Monster. His name is a pun on "read daily". He has been in the newspaper business for a long time, mentioning that he started out as a war correspondent in the US Civil War. This would probably put him in his 40's by the time of the film.
He is voiced by Robert Hays.
Personality and Appearance
Reed Daley is dry witted and sarcastic. He would rather make up sensational stories in order to sell more newspapers than to tell the truth in his articles. He has a secret crush on Nellie Brie, though he expresses it by acting sardonic toward her and pulling jokes such as making young Fievel Mousekewitz her assistant. Tanya Mousekewitz has a crush on Reed, but he either ignores it or is oblivious to it. At the end of the movie he ends up heroically sacrificing himself to save Nellie from the cats, and gets knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finally tells Nellie how he feels and the two become a couple.
Reed has black hair, brown and tan fur, and prominent ears. He dresses in a fancy outfit, with a red vest, white long-sleeved shirt, and yellow pants.
