Marina is a beautiful penguin and the love interest of both Hubie and his adversary Drake. She is the tritagonist of the movie The Pebble and the Penguin.

Physical Appearance[]

The back of Marina's head, back, and her flippers are black. She has a pale white underbelly and checks. She has rosy pink blush on her cheeks. She has a purple forehead and purple stripes on her flippers. She has a pale purple choker, with a pink pebble on it. She has a pink flower, with two green leaves, and a pink berry coming off of it on her head. She has bright purple eyelids, an orange beak, with a dark orange tip, and aqua green eyes. She also has a penguin gown later bare legs.

Role in Film[]

She appears first at the beginning of the movie when Hubie tries to impress her and become her mate. But he has to deal with Drake, a penguin who also loves Marina and hates Hubie. Marina and Hubie soon sing "Sometimes I Wonder" under the moonlight. Drake soon wants her to be her mate, but only to make Hubie jealous. Hubie soon returns without Rocko and his pebble, there he has to fight Drake to find her. Drake soon dies when his large tower collapses down him, killing him. Hubie then gives Marina the pebble but she says, "But don't you know? It's not the pebble. It's the penguin. I love you even more," then they kiss. In the epilog of the movie, Marina and Hubie have eight children, who Rocko teaches how to fly.

Trivia[]

  • Marina is similar to Belle in Disney's 1991 film Beauty and the Beast, just by not only being the leading lady of the film, but also by being the most beautiful, the romantic object of the villain, the exceptional lady (as all others admire him), and she has feelings for the hero instead.
  • Marina's character design is incredibly similar to Mrs. Brisby's from The Secret of NIMH (1982).
  • In the German dub of the film Alexandra Wilcke voices her, she also voiced Snow White, Nala, and Pocahontas in the German versions of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Lion King series and Pocahontas series, respectively.
  • She's a lot similar to Ariel from Disney's 1989 film The Little Mermaid when she sings and swims.
  • Her voice is similar to Petunia from VeggieTales.
  • Her name is the same as the deuteragonist of Dreamworks' 2003 film Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, though the two have little in common.
  • On a different poster Marina puts her flippers on her bare legs like Tank Evans did in Surf's Up.
