Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer (December 13, 1929 – February 5, 2021) was a Canadian voice artist, known as the narrator for the Madeline media, as well as one of the stars of The Sound of Music, and Mr. Narrator in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
He did the voices for Henri in An American Tail and the Grand Duke of Owls in Rock-a-Doodle.
He recently did Up, and 9.
He was considered to voice Mr. Mole in Thumbelina.
Much like Dom DeLuise, Plummer has set the record for appearing in more than one Don Bluth film.
DeLuise died the same year Up and 9 were released.
However, Up was his only Disney animated role in which he voiced Charles F. Muntz.
He even turned down other Disney animated roles such as King Triton from The Little Mermaid and Hades from Hercules.
Both latters were made in hand-drawn while the former was made in CGI.
